Atlas & Valleys Escape — Three Days in the High Silence
Duration: 3 days / 2 nights
Arc: Marrakech → Ourika → Asni → Imlil
Essence: A short mountain retreat — the rhythm of footpaths, rivers, and stone villages under snow-shadowed peaks.
Three days of ascent — from Marrakech’s warmth to the cool breath of the High Atlas. A quiet retreat of paths, rivers, and light where everything slows to mountain time.
Day 1 – Marrakech to Ourika
Depart Marrakech mid-morning. The city fades into olive groves, then to the sound of running water. Lunch by the river in Ourika Valley, where white poplars edge the banks. Overnight in a small lodge surrounded by terraces and cool air.
Day 2 – Ourika to Asni and Imlil
Leave the tarmac behind and follow the old caravan route through M’Hamid, where palms give way to open desert. Ride by 4×4 or camel into Erg Chigaga, the farthest dunes of Morocco — raw, immense, untouched. As the sun sets, sand turns to gold and silence deepens. Dinner by firelight, night beneath endless stars.
Day 3 – Imlil to Marrakech
Morning tea on the terrace as light moves across the peaks. Optional short hike to Aroumd or along mule trails overlooking the valley. Return to Marrakech by afternoon — the mountain air still in your lungs.
