Atlantic Road Journey — Seven Days by the Ocean

Duration: 7 days / 6 nights
Arc: From the red city to the ocean’s edge, south to forgotten coves, then north by the wind.

A meditative journey along Morocco’s Atlantic edge — salt air, endless light, and the slow rhythm of water and wind.

Day 1 – Marrakech to Essaouira

Drive west from Marrakech, crossing argan country to Essaouira, the port of calm and wind. Evening walk through the medina as gulls wheel above white walls.

Day 2 – Essaouira

A day for sea rhythm: visit the port at dawn, stroll the beach at low tide, wander art galleries and blue-shuttered cafés.

Day 3 – Essaouira to Imsouane

Follow the coast south through Sidi Kaouki and Tamri, stopping for tea where cliffs meet the sea. Arrive in Imsouane, Morocco’s slowest surf town.

Day 4 – Imsouane to Mirleft

Drive past Agadir toward the quieter south. The road bends through Aglou and empty beaches until Mirleft, where red cliffs fall into the ocean. Overnight in a small cliffside lodge.

Day 5 – Mirleft to Sidi Ifni

A short drive south to Sidi Ifni, once a Spanish outpost, now a sleepy town of curved facades and quiet surf. Walk the empty promenade and watch the horizon dissolve.

Day 6 – Sidi Ifni to Agadir

Return north through Legzira and Tiznit, stopping for lunch beside the arches carved by the tide. Reach Agadir by evening — a pause of urban calm after wild coast.

Day 7 – Agadir to Marrakech

Leave the sea behind and drive inland through argan forests and small villages. Arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon. The scent of salt lingers — memory of wind and water.
