FAQs

1. What makes Slow Morocco different from other tour companies?

We don’t design tours — we craft transformative journeys. Each itinerary is built around rhythm, presence, and genuine connection. You won’t find bucket-list circuits or rushed schedules here. Our approach is rooted in slowness, respect, and meaning.

2. How is Slow Morocco connected to previous travel companies?

Slow Morocco is the evolution of a company founded in 2013 that guided travellers across Morocco for over a decade. It carries that same logistical expertise and network of trusted partners, but it reimagines travel as a sacred and intentional experience.

3. What kind of traveller is Slow Morocco for?

Our journeys are designed for people who travel inward as much as outward — seekers of experience rather than collectors of places. You don’t need to be spiritual or seasoned; only open, curious, and willing to slow down.

4. Do you offer group tours or private journeys?

Most of our itineraries are private and customisable, designed for individuals, couples, or small groups of friends or families. On occasion, we host small group retreats or special themed journeys where connection and reflection are central.

5. How do I book a journey?

You can begin by exploring our itineraries on this website. When you find a journey that resonates, simply click “Enquire” — we’ll follow up personally by email to refine details, confirm availability, and send payment information.
Once payment is received, your booking is confirmed and we begin preparing your journey in full.

6. How do payments work?

We currently accept PayPal and bank transfers.
All details are provided in your booking confirmation. Prices are listed in Moroccan dirhams (MAD) or euros (EUR). Once our secure checkout is live, you’ll also be able to pay directly through the website.

7. What is your cancellation and refund policy?

All cancellations must be made in writing. Refunds depend on the time before departure and follow our Refund Policy. We recommend comprehensive travel insurance to cover unexpected changes or emergencies.

8. Do you arrange flights or travel insurance?

No. We focus on what we do best — crafting journeys within Morocco. You are responsible for booking international flights and arranging your own travel insurance. Our Travel Insurance Policy outlines the coverage required.

9. What kind of accommodations do you use?

We partner with Moroccan-owned riads, ecolodges, kasbahs, and desert camps chosen for authenticity and atmosphere, not extravagance. Comfort is important, but so is character — every place has a story and a heartbeat.

10. Can the journeys be tailored to my interests or pace?

Absolutely. Slowness is not a formula but a mindset.
If you want more photography, food, craft, solitude, or movement — we’ll design the rhythm around what nourishes you.

11. Is travel in Morocco safe?

Yes. Morocco is one of North Africa’s safest destinations. We monitor local conditions carefully and work only with trusted, long-established partners. Your comfort and security are always prioritised.

12. Do I need to speak Arabic or French?

No. Our guides are multilingual and fluent in English. Learning a few local greetings in Arabic or Tamazight is always appreciated — and we’ll be delighted to teach you along the way.

13. What should I pack?

Pack light, breathable clothing suitable for layers and changing temperatures. Comfortable walking shoes, a scarf or shawl for sun and modesty, and a reusable water bottle are essential. Once your journey is confirmed, we’ll send a detailed packing list.

14. How does Slow Morocco support local communities?

Every itinerary is built on local collaboration. We partner with artisans, cooperatives, and family-run riads to ensure tourism benefits the people who sustain Morocco’s heritage. Learn more in our Sustainability & Community Commitment.

15. Can I photograph people and places freely?

Photography is welcome, but respect comes first. Always ask permission before photographing individuals, especially in rural areas or sacred spaces. Your guide will advise when it’s appropriate.

16. What happens if something unexpected occurs during the journey?

Our team is based in Morocco and available 24/7 during your trip. We’ll assist immediately with changes, emergencies, or adjustments, ensuring continuity and care at every stage.
