Place de l'Indépendance

The main square of Ouezzane at the foot of the medina, where the weekly Thursday market draws people from the surrounding Rif villages — farmers, olive oil sellers, wool merchants, herb gatherers. The square on a Thursday morning is one of the most authentic rural markets in northern Morocco, entirely unmediated by tourism.
