Zaouia of Ouezzane

The spiritual heart of Ouezzane — the zaouia of the Sharifa of Ouezzane, a religious dynasty founded in the 17th century whose influence extended across northern Morocco, Algeria, and the Moroccan Jewish community. The zaouia still functions as a centre of religious learning. Non-Muslims may not enter. The green-tiled octagonal minaret is visible from every point in the city.
