Aït Benhaddou Ksar Interior
The interior of the Aït Benhaddou ksar — beyond the tourist entrance, past the renovated facades — is a working village of earthen architecture in varying states of preservation. Grain stores, communal cisterns, the mosque, the tower rooms where the wealthiest families lived at the highest point. A few families still live here year-round. The rest come down to the new village across the river for winter.
