Mhamid el-Ghizlane
The last town before the Algerian border and the open Sahara — the end of the tarmac, the end of the palmeraie, the end of Morocco as most people understand it. The Draa river disappears into the desert here, losing itself in the sand. The Sahrawi and Tuareg nomads who gather in Mhamid for the weekly souk are from a world the rest of Morocco rarely sees.
