Azrou Cedar Forest & Macaques

The cedar forest immediately outside Azrou is the most reliable place in Morocco to see Barbary macaques — the only wild primate in Africa north of the Sahara. The macaques live in troops of 10–30, feeding on cedar bark and acorns, and have become habituated to human presence. They will climb onto your car. Do not feed them.
