Ben Slimane Forest

A cork oak and pine forest 30 kilometres inland from Mohammedia, used by Casablancans as a weekend picnic destination. The forest road from Mohammedia passes through the agricultural Chaouia plain — wheat fields, olive groves, the flat Atlantic hinterland that supplies Casablanca's markets. The forest itself is cooler by ten degrees in summer.
