Western Sahara

Dakhla is in the Western Sahara — a territory Morocco has administered since 1979 following Spain's withdrawal, and which remains the subject of an unresolved UN decolonisation process. The Sahrawi people who are indigenous to this territory are divided between those living under Moroccan administration and those in refugee camps in Algeria. The territory's political status is the longest-running decolonisation question in Africa.
