Larache Port

The fishing port of Larache at the mouth of the Loukkos river — Atlantic sardines, sea bass, and the occasional swordfish landed on a quay below the Spanish colonial town. The Loukkos estuary behind the port is one of the richest wetland bird habitats in Morocco, with flamingos, spoonbills, and black storks visible from the port walls in winter.
