Larache Spanish Colonial Quarter

The Spanish-built ville nouvelle of Larache, constructed between 1911 and 1956 in the style of a provincial Andalusian town — arcaded streets, wrought iron balconies, a covered market, a cinema. Less grand than Tetouan's Ensanche but more intimate. The café culture the Spanish left behind is still functioning: strong coffee, afternoon newspapers, men playing cards at outdoor tables.
