Tamuda Roman Ruins in tetouan, Morocco

Tamuda Roman Ruins

The ruins of the Roman city of Tamuda, 5 kilometres east of Tetouan — a military camp established in the 1st century CE on the site of an earlier Mauretanian settlement. The walls of the castrum are still standing to head height. The mosaics excavated here are in the Tetouan Archaeological Museum. The site is unenclosed and almost entirely unvisited.
