Place Hassan II Tetouan
The main square of Tetouan, where the medina meets the Spanish colonial city. The Royal Palace facade on one side, the medina gate on another, and the Spanish-built covered market on a third. The square has the proportions of an Andalusian plaza mayor — which is not a coincidence, since Tetouan was administered by Spain until 1956 and the Spanish built to their own grammar.
