Mohammedia Medina

The old medina of Mohammedia — originally called Fedala — is small and largely overlooked by visitors who come for the beach or pass through on the highway between Casablanca and Rabat. The Portuguese briefly held it in the 16th century. The Moroccan families who settled it after built a compact medina around a single mosque. The lanes are quiet on weekdays.
