Ouezzane Jewish Heritage

Ouezzane was one of the most significant centres of Jewish pilgrimage in Morocco — the tomb of Rabbi Amram Ben Diwan draws Jewish visitors from around the world, and the relationship between the Ouezzane sharifs and the Jewish community was historically protective. The mellah of Ouezzane still has its synagogue and cemetery, largely intact.
