Tetouan Tanneries

The working tanneries of Tetouan, smaller and less visited than Fes or Marrakech, operating on the eastern edge of the medina. The leather produced here follows the Andalusian tradition — finer and more supple than the Fassi product, used primarily for babouches and bookbinding. The craftspeople work in the same way their ancestors did in Córdoba.
