Asilah Beach

A long sweep of Atlantic beach north of the medina, sheltered by the Portuguese ramparts on one side and open ocean on the other. The water is cold even in summer — the Atlantic current from the north keeps temperatures ten degrees below what the latitude suggests. The beach is clean, uncrowded outside August, and completely local.
