Asilah Port

The working fishing port of Asilah, operating from within the Portuguese ramparts. Blue and white boats, the morning catch laid on the quay, the smell of salt and diesel. The port makes clear what Asilah was before the art festival made it a destination — a fishing town on the Atlantic coast that the Portuguese, Spanish, and eventually Moroccans all wanted to control.
