Dakhla Lagoon Flamingos

The shallow southern end of the Dakhla lagoon is a feeding ground for thousands of flamingos — one of the largest concentrations in West Africa. The birds arrive from their breeding grounds further north and spend months in the lagoon, their pink reflections doubling in the flat water. The flamingos and the kitesurfers share the same body of water without apparent conflict.
