The large-scale resort development south of the village — hotels, a golf course, a marina, the infrastructure of mass tourism transplanted to a surf coast. It is what Taghazout was not for fifty years, and what the Moroccan government decided it should become. The village and the resort are 2 kilometres apart and completely different in character.
