Morocco's most famous surf break. The right-hand point at Anchor Point produces long, walling waves from November to March — the kind of ride that built Taghazout's reputation with European surfers decades ago. The wave breaks over rocks, starting at the point and peeling for hundreds of meters toward the beach. It's not a beginner's wave; the takeoff is critical and the rocks punish mistakes. But when it's working — head-high and clean — it's among the best points in Africa. The beach access is just north of Taghazout village. The point is named for the anchor of a wrecked ship, still visible at low tide. The lineup can be crowded with local surfers who know the wave intimately. Respect the pecking order; wait your turn. Best time: December-February (swell season) Allow: Half day to full day Combine with: Hash Point and Taghazout village
