Ourika Valley

The valley that runs south from Marrakech into the High Atlas — the most accessible mountain landscape from the city, a 45-minute drive that takes you from desert plain to terraced Amazigh villages, walnut orchards, and the Oued Ourika river. The Monday market at Aghbalou draws people from the entire valley. The valley floor floods every decade or so when the Atlas sends water down.
