Tinghir
The oasis town at the entrance to the Todra Gorge — a Protectorate-era administrative centre built alongside a much older kasbah and palmeraie settlement. The Jewish community of Tinghir, one of the last in southern Morocco, emigrated almost entirely to Israel in the 1960s. Their mellah is still intact. The palmeraie that surrounds the town is one of the largest in the south.
