Hotel Continental

The oldest hotel in Tangier, opened in 1865 on the edge of the medina overlooking the port. Queen Victoria's son stayed here. Winston Churchill painted the view from its terrace. The rooms are faded and the plumbing is uncertain, but the building — Ottoman arches, painted ceilings, a terrace above the port — is one of the great interiors of Morocco.
