Marshan District

The plateau west of the kasbah, overlooking the strait, where Tangier's old European diplomatic quarter was established. Paul Bowles lived in an apartment here for the last forty years of his life, writing at a table facing the window that looked toward Spain. The neighbourhood is quiet, residential, and largely unchanged since the 1960s.
