Merzouga Village

The village at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes — a collection of guesthouses, camel handlers, and the families who have lived here long before the dunes became a destination. The village itself is unremarkable. What matters is its position: at the precise point where the hammada ends and the sand sea begins, a boundary you can walk across in ten minutes.
