The main beach of Casablanca, west of the corniche — wide, sandy, and facing the full force of the Atlantic. Cold water, strong current, and a horizon that stretches uninterrupted to the Americas. The beach clubs that line it have been the social infrastructure of Casablanca's bourgeoisie since the 1950s.
