Grande Mosquée de Meknès

The Friday mosque of Meknes, founded in the Merinid period and rebuilt by Moulay Ismail in the 17th century. Its minaret — green-tiled, visible from across the medina — is the vertical signature of the city. Non-Muslims may not enter. The carved plaster decoration on the exterior walls is visible from the lane and requires no ticket.
