Fes el-Andalus

The eastern half of the old city, settled in the 9th century by refugees from Córdoba. The Andalusians brought with them a more refined urban culture — wider streets, formal gardens, the Andalusian mosque that Maryam al-Fihri built. The Oued Fes divides the city. The Andalusian quarter is the quieter half.
