Dar Adiyel

A 17th-century merchant's house in the heart of Fes el-Bali, now operating as a cultural centre. The interior is a complete example of Fassi domestic architecture: a ground floor of zellige and carved plaster around a central courtyard, upper floors of cedar latticework and painted ceilings. The domestic scale makes it more legible than any palace.
