Oued Fes

The river that divided the original city into two halves and gave Fes its hydraulic logic. The tanneries, the dyers, the mills, the fountains — all of them positioned along its flow. Much of it now runs underground through channels built in the 19th century. Where it surfaces, the city's industrial history becomes briefly visible.
