Zaouia of Moulay Idriss II

The tomb of Idris II, the founder of Fes, who died in 828 CE. The most important pilgrimage site in Fes. A wooden beam stretches across the lane at chest height before the entrance — the traditional boundary marker beyond which animals and non-Muslims could not pass. The beam is still there.
