Le Musée du Parfum
The scents of Morocco: rose, orange blossom, amber, musk. Antique bottles, traditional distillation, workshops where you blend your own fragrance. The experience takes an hour; the memory lasts longer.
A small museum dedicated to the scents of Morocco: rose, orange blossom, amber, musk. The collection displays antique perfume bottles, explains traditional distillation, and offers workshops where you can blend your own fragrance. The building is a restored riad in the medina, intimate and pretty. The museum makes a case for perfumery as craft — Moroccan perfumers trained in techniques passed down through generations, local ingredients processed locally, products that smell like somewhere specific. The workshop is the highlight. Guided by a perfumer, you choose base notes, heart notes, and top notes to create a personal scent. The result goes home in a small bottle. The experience takes an hour; the memory lasts longer. Best time: Any time (book workshop in advance) Allow: 1-1.5 hours Combine with: Bahia Palace and medina exploration
