Kasbah Quarter

The royal enclosure of Marrakech, built by the Almohads in the 12th century and still walled off from the rest of the medina. The Saadian Tombs are inside. The Bab Agnaou leads into it. Most visitors walk through quickly. The lanes between the Saadian Tombs and the ramparts are entirely local — workshops, a weekly souk, children playing football against walls that are eight centuries old.
